We’re big craft beer fans here at GoBeyond SEO. I believe I can speak for the team in saying that Hop Drop & Roll from NoDa is our favorite Friday beverage – and we often have it in stock here at the office. While we are partial to our IPA, we aren’t closed off to the rest of what the thriving Charlotte craft beer scene has to offer.
Here are our favorite places to get crafty in Charlotte:
1. Sycamore Brewing
This relatively new family-owned Charlotte brewery is making a big name for itself. Located in up and coming South End Charlotte, Sycamore Brewing has become a favorite of craft beer lovers. Their Countryside IPA won the Charlotte Biz Journal’s Carolina Beer Madness against some local legends. We love spending the (weekend) day sipping tasty brews out on their awesome patio or enjoying live music at night.
2. NoDa Brewery
NoDa is probably the most well known brewery in Charlotte and for good reason. They make fantastic beers with Hop, Drop & Roll leading the pack. Not only is it their most popular beer, I would say that it is one of the best IPA’s in the country (yes I’m talking to you Pliny). Plus, you can find their beers at Charlotte Knights games, making for the perfect summer evening.
We love Brawley’s Beverage not only because it has a great beer selection for both bottles and drafts, but because it’s right across the street from the GoBeyond world headquarters. We’ve been known to stop by for a beer before we head home. The owner Mike is one of the nicest guys in Charlotte and it’s a great place to have a cold beer while you shop for cold beer.
4. Harris Teeter Ballantyne
Don’t knock it till you try it, the remodeled Ballantyne HT is the new Taj Ma Teeter in town! Certified Cicerone Kit Burkholder curates the awesome craft beer selection and serves up some of the area’s best beers from behind the bar. That’s right, this HT has a bar! The next time you’re sent out on a milk run, give yourself some extra time, browse the beer selection here and tell HT’s Beer Guy @KitBurkholder that we sent ya!
With the mantra #dingdongbeer, BREWPUBLIK deliveries craft beer to your door and – needless to say – we love it. Using their “beergorithm,” they create a profile based on your most favoritest craft beer. From there, these awesome folks deliver a crate full of tasty craft beer that is tailored to our tastes, and we’ve discovered some new favorites (cough ASS CLOWN ORANGE CITRUS IPA cough). You most definitely need to jump in on this awesome Charlotte startup!
6. Carolina Beer Temple
Like Brawley’s, the Carolina Beer Temple is a great place to go for craft beer whether you’re looking for a cold one while you relax at the bar, or if you want to take some home. They recently started serving food and welcome you to order from the menus provided from the surrounding restaurants in Matthews. The place seems to get more and more crowded every time I go in and for good reason. If you’re lucky enough grab a table, enjoy some great beer and test your trivia knowledge with Trivial Pursuit cards on the tables.
Cheers to the weekend folks – now go explore these great craft beer places!
